The Queensland Reconstruction Authority was seeking trusted advisors to ensure the organisation’s operational for readiness, disaster planning, and response strategies all met the requirements of both the Queensland Government and communities across the state.

Gripfast were engaged to deliver this, and to build a system of ‘continuous improvement’ to ensure that the QRA remained capable and ready to complete all assigned tasks now, and into the future.

As project lead and trusted advisors to the state, Gripfast drove, mentored, orchestrated, trained and empowered QRA staff, ensuring the client remained in control of the project’s objectives and outcomes and were able to implement/manage without external support moving forward.

The project was completed two weeks early ahead of schedule, with the QRA team taking 100% control of the project’s implementation. This highlighted the effectiveness of the delivery model and mentoring approach delivered by the Gripfast team.

Coming in well under a quarter of the budget, the team employed the use of the signature, Gripfast PMM (Project Management Model) and embedded themselves with the organisation, using their skills and expertise to develop a framework and doctrine that met their needs.

This collaborative, efficient and immersive approach ensured that the outcomes were immediately usable and implementable by the QRA staff. Further, the methods of transparency used via highly consultative project delivery, achieved ‘whole of organisation’ buy-in.

Overall, Gripfast’s work and the outcomes delivered were so successful the program now runs internally, affording improved organisational capacity for state readiness, planning and responsiveness, if and when natural disasters occur.
